Most financial auditing apps invite you to create a control as soon as you log in. Softwairehub asks cohorts to put the mouse down. The first exercise is a one-page ownership map: who can change the design, who performs the control, who reviews evidence, and who merely needs a status light.

Why the map comes first

When the tool invents the structure, orphaned controls appear—records nobody can maintain after a reorg. Internal control teams in Taiwan(China) often inherit multi-entity templates that look complete and still fail the first walkthrough because the named owner left six months ago.

A practical sketch

We use four columns: risk statement, activity, system of record, and escalation path. The auditing app fields come later, mapped onto that sketch. If a column stays blank, Softwairehub facilitators treat that as a design gap—not a missing checkbox in the software.

What changes in week two

Teams usually discover they have three “owners” for the same cash control and zero reviewers with calendar time. Fixing that on paper is cheaper than rewriting workflows after go-live. Then configuration becomes a translation task instead of a discovery mission.
